We all admire good wash-and-go and elaborate party hairstyles, but washing hair every day is bad, and there is often no time and place for complicated updos in everyday life.
The longest hair ever
As a hairstylist who recently switched to a natural gray color, I want my hair to look decent every day. And I still wash it often, just once a week! No joke! Here is my extended routine and the easy daily hairstyles that help me get through the week until the next wash day.
I always start with a GOOD wash and blow dry. Then I decide whether to straighten, curl, or not iron at all (my approximate heat tool choices per year are 15% straighten, 30% curl, and 55% no ironing to keep hair healthy). All of these simple, everyday styles match the finish you choose on day 1.
I only use a SEXY Hair Healthy Tri-Wheat Leave-In Conditioner before blow-drying because my hair naturally reflects light and gives it a shiny appearance. I achieved the look below by blow-drying my hair in sections with a large aluminum-based round brush. I then flat ironed my hair using small sections and the small wonder brush for help with handling. If you're having trouble giving a good blowout at home, seek professional help occasionally and monitor the process closely. Then practice at home to become proficient at it.
