Bungie developers have spoken out about last week's latest round of layoffs, which saw over 200 employees at the Destiny 2 maker let go.

After Bungie's Layoffs… What's the Path Forward for Destiny 2? What Happens Now?

It has been a turbulent year for the studio. In October 2023, it was also forced to lay off people, but last week a huge reorganization was announced, with 17 percent fewer people laid off and even more team members relocated as part of the restructuring.

Now, over a week after the layoffs were officially announced, the team is still working on Destiny and has not been moved to other projects like Marathon. Twitter/X has written about what the future holds for the franchise.

"We know that recent changes at Bungie have created uncertainty about the future of Destiny," the team said on its dev account. "Rest assured, we remain committed to Destiny, to supporting our community with transparency, and to providing regular updates about the game."
