Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is the subject of a new documentary, "The Bibi Files," produced by Oscar winner Alex Gibney and directed by Alexis Bloom. The two-hour documentary, which will be screened as a work-in-progress at the Toronto Film Intl. Festival, includes never-before-seen footage of Netanyahu's police interrogations.

The recordings were made between 2016 and 2018 as part of an evidence gathering exercise to determine whether to bring charges against the Israeli prime minister for bribery, fraud and breach of trust.

In 2023, the recordings were leaked to Gibney. They contain extensive interviews with Bibi, his wife Sara, his son Yair, the prime minister's friends and associates, and household staff.

“These recordings shed light on Netanyahu’s character in a way that is unprecedented and extraordinary,” Gibney said. “They are powerful evidence of his depraved and corrupt character and how that has brought us to where we are today.”
