With the full battalion of college programs at their fingertips, developers at EA Sports had their work cut out for them in creating College Football 25, but they did get some help from AI.

According to Polygon, EA CEO Andrew Wilson said that developers used machine learning and AI technology to create more than 11,000 player likenesses in the game, along with 150 different stadiums across the United States.

Wilson did clarify that the stadiums and players weren’t created entirely by AI, and that artists were tasked with touching up and improving the players’ faces in post-production. The team typically used traditional methods to create these players, whether that was through facial scans or by hand.

However, with over 11,000 players, the developers were taking on a massive task that couldn’t even compare to their other EA Sports titles, which typically have a roster of around 500-1,000. As a result, College Football 25 was a huge challenge that required some outside help to complete.
