It’s time for one of the most unexpected Community Day events of 2024, with Niantic switching things up and going straight for Bounsweet instead of hitting the final Alolan Starter. But that just means you can enjoy a new Shiny, some Special Research, and other bonuses.

In place of Popplio, Pokémon Go players will be able to encounter the Fruit Pokémon Bounsweet more often during Community Day on May 19, which runs from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. This will include the introduction of Shiny Bounsweet, several Community Day event bonuses, and an exclusive set of Special Research to complete.

Following the Community Day event, players will be able to participate in special Steenee four-star raids from 5pm to 10pm local time. Winning one of these raids will cause Bounsweet to spawn within a 300-meter radius of that Gym for 30 minutes. Any Bounsweet encountered this way will have the same increased Shiny chances as the Community Day hours.
