The Exotic Khvosotv 7G-0X auto rifle in Destiny 2 requires several lengthy steps to obtain. Making the process even more frustrating is a bug that prevents you from obtaining a final material for this Exotic.

How to Fix the Khovostov Bug and Find the LAST MISSING Splinter in Destiny 2!

Earlier this week, Bungie removed the Taken Servitor (aka the Meatball) boss from the Overthrow rotation in Destiny 2 because it wasn’t dropping the Mote of Light if it was the last boss you defeated before the Khvosotv 7G-0X auto rifle. On June 11, the boss was brought back into the rotation, and you can now defeat it to get that last Mote you were missing.

If you previously encountered a bug that removed all Motes of Light from your inventory after defeating the boss, that should now be fixed as well. The Exotic Mote should automatically appear once you enter Orbit after defeating the Taken Servitor. Bungie noted that there will be no on-screen drop notification and the Exotic Mote should simply appear in your inventory as long as you have an open slot.

However, it seems that the re-enabled Taken Servitor is still having issues. Players have reported that the final mote sometimes drops after killing the boss multiple times or not at all, so that's something to keep in mind when going back to finish the mission.
