Popular streamer and esports team owner MoistCr1TiKaL has announced that he and his organization Moist Esports are suing the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement over the treatment of their Apex Legends team and issues with obtaining visas ahead of this week's ALGS Split One playoffs in Los Angeles.
I am suing the US Immigration Service
An angry MoistCr1TiKaL announced on May 4 that he would be taking legal action. He said that the US immigration system was riddled with "pure, rotten corruption" and described the entire journey of dealing with the government agency as "infuriating." Much of what MoistCr1TiKaL said echoed his sentiments from early April when the Australia team's trip to the US was thrown into turmoil following the news that Australian players Ben "Wxltzy" Walton and Matthew "Emtee" Trengove would not be granted entry visas.
“We have been fighting a losing battle against US immigration,” said MoistCr1TiKaL, claiming that his players’ attempts to obtain ESTA visas were futile due to “one bedwetting homunculus agent who has a grudge against our esports organization.” MoistCr1TiKaL believes he and his team have a case after consulting with lawyers, but explains that regardless of a victory in court, there is little to no chance of his team getting back the money they lost to get there.
“It turns out there is corruption in the US Constitution itself, so that even if we defeat US Immigration in this lawsuit, they cannot pay us damages,” he said, describing the huge financial losses after failed visa applications and multiple flights from Australia, North America and Europe.
